You can't reduce what you don't measure
Most food manufacturers have no real data on their surplus. Zipli changes that — AI-powered photo logging gives you accurate, real-time visibility from day one.
Book a demo21 million tonnes of manufacturer surplus. Almost none of it is tracked.
tonnes of food surplus from EU manufacturers annually
CSRD mandatory reporting begins for large manufacturers
EU food manufacturers generate more surplus than any other segment of the food chain. Most of it is never logged. It goes to landfill or low-value disposal — not because it's unsalvageable, but because nobody captured the data.
Without data, you can't measure reduction. You can't prove compliance. You can't route surplus to higher-value channels. And you definitely can't meet the CSRD and EU Waste Framework Directive targets that are now mandatory.
The problem isn't willingness — it's that existing tools are too slow, too manual, and too disconnected from the production floor. Zipli solves this with AI-powered photo logging that takes seconds.
Why manufacturers choose Zipli
Photo-first logging
One photo is all it takes. AI detects the food items, estimates weight, and logs the batch. Production staff don't need training, barcodes, or forms. If they can take a photo, they can use Zipli.
Real-time dashboard
Every photo taken on the floor appears in a live management dashboard within seconds. See surplus trends across facilities, spot patterns, and track reduction over time. Data you can actually act on.
Hub network effect
Once surplus is logged, Zipli can match it to redistribution hubs, discount channels, and secondary markets. Every new participant on the platform creates more routes — your surplus finds higher-value destinations faster.
Compliance built in
Good logging data means compliance comes for free. CSRD reports, ESG metrics, audit trails — they're all generated automatically from the same data your staff captured with a photo. No extra work.

Our journey
Founded in Helsinki
Two people with different backgrounds — circular economy strategy and full-stack engineering — who shared the same frustration: perfectly good food going to waste because the tools to track and route it didn't exist. NoWaste Futures Oy was born.
First pilots with food service partners
Built the platform from scratch. Mobile logging app. Coordinator dashboard. AI matching engine. Launched pilots with food operators in Helsinki to validate the model in the field.
Platform rebuilt for manufacturers
Pivoted to food manufacturers as primary customers. Rebuilt the platform around AI surplus logging, CSRD compliance reporting, and hub network matching. Secured EU Horizon funding. The model works at industrial scale.
Nordic manufacturer rollout
Launching with Nordic food manufacturers — confectionery, dairy, bakery, and plant-based processors. CSRD compliance tools go live. Building the hub network across Finland and expanding to EU markets.
